Religion & Culture Core Of "India-Nepal Relations"
-Image Media Network, New Delhi : At a program organized by Delhi Study Group at Press Club of India, New Delhi on "India-Nepal Relations", BJP Leader Dr. Vijay Jolly stated that religion & culture are the base pillars of India -Nepal Relations. Sita Mata Janaki temple in Mithila region at Janakpur and Pashupati Nath temple in Kathmandu along with "roti-beti" relationship depict religious & cultural similarities between the two neighbors.

       Nepal State Minister for Urban Development Affairs Ram Bir Manandhar delivered the keynote address on the occasion. 


Dr. Jolly stated that at the behest of Prime Minister Modi, recently on 21st Jan 2021, India made 10 lakh covishield & covaxin vaccines doses were gifted to Nepal to protect human life of Nepali brothers & sisters.  


In the earlier phase of Covid-19, India sent 30 thousand PCR test kits and 23 tons of medicines to Nepal. Recalling the terrible Nepal earthquake on 25th April 2015, Prime Minister Modi had sent relief material within 6 hours of earthquake for 9,000 dead & 22,000 injured Nepali citizens. 


Dr. Jolly described this philanthropic act as Indian love & respect for Nepal.


Dr. Jolly further stated that 32,000 Gorkha soldiers serving the Indian army are our pride. Whereas more than 80 lakh Nepali citizens are living & working in India. India supplies 600 MW of power to Nepal. Nepal terai region 10 main link roads are on up-gradation with Indian assistance. Integrated check points at Birganj, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa & Nepalgunj have facilitated smooth trade links while India today is a largest trading partner of Nepal.
